Hydraulic fluid question

except right from the owners manual of an actual "deere built" =(made in Moline) 175 Hydro tractor - the spec id motor oil. 30 weight for the leasr common, and 10W30 for the 2 most common hydrostatic units used by John Deere in their tractor..... No "deere branded" fluid spec.

Well, that may be one model; the ZTR here spec's Hy-Gard.

But, I repeat the above in the volume numbers...

And, retire from the inanity of it all...

If you look at the specs for the actual hydro units used in the various makes you will find that the fluids used boils down to what the end user of the unit wants to use. For instance the Sunstrand 15 unit that was used by Cub Cadet (prior to MTD) was also used by JD and Simplicity as well as several other users.

Cub Cadet spec'd their Hy-Tran fluid, JD wanted Hy-gard, Simplicity wanted their Drive fluid and the maker of the unit says that you can use Hydraulic fluid, Type-f trans fluid, Hydraulic trans oil or any other suitable fluid.
