Livonia/Detroit Area scrap yards?

I know of only one good scrap yard in the area, Haggerty Metal Salvage that lets you poke around. They are in Plymouth. Does anybody know of any others in the area. Pickins seem abit slim lately although they just had a crate of old chainsaw, weedwacker motors half torn apart that I found, hmm if I weld two cranks together and make a two cylinder.....

Admiral Metals on Mound and 18 mile isn't bad. I've found some interesting stuff over there (including a complete Bridgeport minus head over there last week for < $300). They're a little small.

There are some big yards around Roseville and Warren, but I've never checked them out. I think east side would be best considering the number of small shops in that area.

I couldn't really see where it's at on map quest. Do you have an address or city?

Thanks for your help

Don't forget about the big Zalev yards in the Detroit area, as well as in Windsor.

Hey Tom,

Do you ever get to "wander" through them looking for material? That would be interesting.

Take care.

The wandering part is the part I'm interested in. Haggerty lets you it's great!
