I am in the process of building a coffee roaster and I need a motor that will turn the drum about 20 to 30 RPM.
I have seen some shaded pole gear reduction motors but these seem to be a little on the light duty side.
Any suggestions?

Reduce with gearing. This may be as simple as old bike sprockets and chain, or pillow blocks, pulleys, and v-belts.

Use a barbeque spit motor. They usually sell for about 50 cents in thrift stores

These are a little slow, about 6 rpm.

Go to your local scrap yard. The ones near my house have lots of gear reducers that you should be able to buy for $10 or $20.
