That can't possibly be real. How the hell are they going to collect $75 deposit on a keg that brand new is $100? A used 5 gallon keg (which by what I read in that law is included.) goes for anywhere from about $10 to $40 are they planning on collecting $75.00 deposit on that too? That's great! Waaaaaaaay to Go government...hard at work as usual. Paul

No, it's for the state to make a fast $75, and make it easier to bust the retail purchaser - and the retailer for something that is out of his control.

4 Gallons... Is a Pony Keg small enough to slip under the radar? I know a Half Keg won't.

I agree, it isn't for the children, the underage drinkers are going to get the booze if they want it and carrying 8 cases is a lot easier than carrying a half keg anyway - same amount of beer, just a little more costly. But this law is hurting both the retailers and those who have a keg in a keg cooler at home. It cuts the cost and the hassle of bringing back all those empties. My Dad has had a keg in the garage refrig for over 30 years now, and the empty one there now may have been the last, because it takes over a month, usually two to drink it, (even with my help on my bi-weekly visits.) and no way can he afford to lose the $75. By the way, as I understand it, the $75 is over and above the keg deposit that you usually pay, plus the cost of the beer. We always just brought back an empty and never had to pay additional deposit on the keg. This law is a cheap political grab at the heartstrings "were doing it for the children..." and a cold hearted grab at your pocket.
