Because most, not all...but most liberals support only PART of the Bill of Rights. Most tend to want to ignore, or consider it a mistake..that pesky 2nd Amendment.

Not to mention that most, but not all, most Liberals tend to ignore those portions of the Bill of Rights that gets in their way, or find work arounds if it blocks their agenda, not just the 2nd. Or find some really creative "interpretations" to cover their plans.

Oddly enough it's not the 'big bad liberals' who matter in this case. I would point out that I'm one step closer to winning a coke from you, as the Chief Justice is now in serious trouble with thyroid cancer. That makes *one* appointement for the incoming president. I was betting, what, three at least this term? To be fair I'm not sure there really was a handshake bet.

But that *one* issue is biggie, honestly. Kerry or Bush, things aren't gonna be much different (I bet that the draft boards will be cranking up after nov, no matter who wins) but the court apointments are what's gonna make a lasting impression on the US.

You are aware are you not..that the only two attempts to reinstate the Draft, have both come from Democrats.

Why would your party want the draft back, even after Bush and Co have stated quite clearly that they would not reinstate the draft?

I find it fascinating why Democrats want the Draft back. Interesting.

I spent 22 years and some change with the green machine. Retired now. I'd feel a whole lot better saluting Pres. Bush as CinC than Kerry. If "The Shrub" calls, I'm ready.

They're going to need it if Kerry gets selected. After all, there are a lot of GIs who will not re-up if he's the CNC, and then where are the Democrats and other progressives going to get bodies to die with honor on UN missions? Conscription, that's where.

Right wingers buy them and modify them so they can be used on words. No strain, no thinking, just a few turns of the crank and they can make anything fit their purpose, no matter how stupid and far out it may be.

?? Both Bush and Cheney, as well as the Military have gone on record stateing quite clearly, repeatedly, they will not reintroduce the Draft. Are you with me this far?

Two Democrat authored, sponsored and presented bills have been put up for a vote to reintroduce the Draft. Kerry talks about someone bringing back the draft.

So if its not the Republicans, but the Dems who are in favor of the Draft, and have recently tried to pass a draft bill, then it would appear that if Kerry (who is a democrat and keeps talking about the draft) wins, you get a Draft.
