OT - new hacking tactic

Your parcel has arrived.

Unpaid Taxes notice (very tricky, but also deadly)

"New" to me, anyhow. Got email with subject "Delivery Status Notification" & "USPS.COM" logo. Message was "Our courier couldnt make the delivery of parcel to you at 07th April. Print label and show it in the nearest post office." And the "Print Label" button was a nefarious link. More subtle than the usual "You need to verify your account" stuff.

I get a few of them every day

Also, there are things which claim to be a form of some sort or other, zipped. And when you unzip, it turns not into a pdf or other text format, but into a .exe -- zaps a Windows system nicely, because you unzip it with Outlook and it runs the program, whether you want to or not. (Unless you have found a way to set it so it does not.)

Me -- I don't use Windows for e-mail, and I save the .zip file, and then run "unzip -l" (list the contents, but don't actually unzip to a file) to see what I would get.

So -- be careful, DoN.
