Ot question and need some ingenious answers

I am a runner. (Mainly for for a hobby.) During short races like a 5k I almost always, despite conditioning, stomach exercises and changing breathing patterns get what is called a side stitch. It is a pain in your side ususally caused by the ligament that goes from your liver to your diaghfram. The bouncing up and down causes this ligament to get stretched, and develops in pain. Pinching the are elimates alot of the tension and lessons or eliminates the pain but it is hard to do during a race.

What kind of contraption could I use to pinch an area roughly 2x2 or

2x3 just along and under the rib cage, without compressing my whole abdominal area. (Which I would think affect my breathing.).

Any help is greatly appreciated! It would have to be light and not very noticeable under a shirt. It would only have to be used for about

20 minutes.

Thanks!

I would try to make a homemade exoskeleton welded from 1.5" pipe.

Get a wife or a Voodoo doll. Gauranteed to change your breathing and compress you in ways you can't imagine. Especially if you call her a contraption once or twice.

Oh, never mind. LOL

No, it's not. It's caused by your flexing leg muscles turning the veins into huge pumps. This pumps massive amounts of venous blood almost directly into the liver, which can't get rid of it fast enough, so it tries to swell inside its inelastic connective tissue capsule, causing the "stitch".

If you get a side stitch, STOP! You don't want to be rupturing your internal organs!
