Well, the first one is something in the Moscow region

The second something about a public tete-a-tete

I'm afraid my Russian isn't up to deciphering the latest sex come-ons.

My favorite was one that said SPAM, in large Cyrillic letters (C AM).

My 'puter translates it as:

Extensible acoustic partitions the delivery of any loads from Moscow to regions. * THE INVESTMENT POTENTIAL OF THE REGIONS OF RUSSIA * ksncitpi regards is the sending of your advertising information on the electronic mail! THE INVESTMENT POTENTIAL OF THE REGIONS OF RUSSIA * PAQI NCIT KS AS SUCCESSFULLY CARRIED OUT PRESENTATIONS... FLOW-A- IT IS FLOWED ON THE PUBLIC"

Just the typical B.S. that's used to try and get past a SPAM filter. Zap 'em.

For a filter, if it ain't english then trash it. Only allow the common english languages or specifically exclude the foreign languages that you do get.

Spamcop lets me blacklist entire continents. I don't know anyone in Africa or South America. I do get email from Europe on a regular basis, so I don't limit it to just English character set email, but I think they'd let me.

Haven't seen any Russian spam...

When we were all getting the Korean(?) spam a few years ago I set a filter that looked for the declaration of a Korean character set in the header - ISO-2022-KR - which caught the great majority of the junk. You might look for something similar for Cyrillic fonts in the header.
