The reports were that President Reagan's alzheimer's got to the point he hardly recognized anyone, but he did remember he was a swimmer. So he did, daily. Of course, when you are the former president, you can get all manner of swim facilities built for you.

Should you be reminded of the "shores of Tripoli"?

High school 215lbs (1970, 6'1 Boot camp 180 (1971 6'2" Hospital in Honsu 164lb (1973 6'3")

1975-98 195lbs 6'2" (two back surgeries) Today, 215 6"2"

I went from 34" waist to 36" waist, to 38" waist, over the last 5 yrs.

My biceps used to be 21". After the back surgeries...they faded away when I could no longer do heavy stuff.

Though I can still see my belt buckle 99% of the time, Im having to start to watch my diet. The meds dont help much either.. If I start putting on weight, I can tell because I start getting back pain.

My hearing is going and my arms are not long enough anymore..sigh...

The Barbary War, where we had to defeat pirates who threatened our new country's lifeline? I know of no current pirates operating against us.

I was reminding you of our president's religious, oil-driven farce in Iraq/Afghanistan/Syria?/NK?/etc. which is being presented to us as a reaction to and cure for terrorism (theirs, not ours.)

Unfortunately, I have to watch my diet all the time, I am a "naturally fat" person.

My knees hurt even after I lost weight.

Been there done that. I finally ended up with a gastric bypass that has worked well (-150). Best exercise for you is walking -- one thing (from experience) that can help .. well two things - back exercises AND try wearing a daypack (or backpack) with some weight in it to sort of "counterbalance" the pot. I myself used to have a massive chest - as I get older, I still have it ... just about a foot lower ;-)

You don't say where you live in Oregon, but if you can get access to water (pool, pond (depending on what part of the country) etc.), swimming works very well and takes the load off your back. (Oregon has a southern warm part and a northern cold part) ;-)

I know that feeling -- I tell people I am ready for the great famine when it comes. When I was in shape before (lots of bicycle riding and very limited food intake), I found that as long as I stayed below about 1400 calories per day AND rode my bike 150-200 miles (yes, real miles) per week, I could stay stable. If my car was as efficient as my body was, I could fill the tank once a year ...

Reading and fine detail work. I used to be able to pick out six points of similarity on any of my fingerprints..while still on my fingers..now Im having trouble focusing on my fingertips unless they are at least 16" away..or more

Distance vision is still good, and can still use peep sights just dandy, nor has it hurt my pistol shooting..but even soldering a board needs reading glasses now. 1.25x from the dollar store work fine. At the moment....

Interesting collection of buzzwords you managed to link together. Your handlers at the DNC would be proud.

A picture of your president's bestest Saudi buddy's family terrorism is not an Iraqi act of piracy. (I suppose hijacking is air piracy.) Why didn't the CIA just clean up its own mess?

Hehehe. You know better than that, and I could say the same thing about your RNC handlers, dude. Take the blinders off and see the truth, will ya? Why are you supporting Shrub & his puppetmasters?

How come you werent asking that question during any of the 8 serious terrorist attacks that occured during Bubba's Administration..and of the CIA that was staffed by Bubba appointees?

Because I happen to agree with their actions for the large part. As Ive stated before, Im an ameatur student of military history and the geopolitical causes and effects and I for the most part..agree with what we are doing in the ME. Frankly..the only fault I can find with Bush & Co. of any import is their stance on illegal immigration.

What you consider to be dada "DA TRUTH" oooooommm...is no more and no less colored by your dislike of the man, the fact that Dems are an ever increasing cranky and whining minority and your generic DNC dislike of conservativism in general.

Asking the average Liberal about this administration evokes pretty much the same kneejerk reaction, and with as much validity, as asking any Nazi party official about the Jews.

Your opinion is noted again and again. As is mine.

I'm on the east side, in the mountains. The nearest anything from here is about 80 mi away (McDs, Safeway, movie, even a traffic light.) I do have one of those 20'x4' donut pools but it will still be another 2 weeks to a month before we can use it. Unless I can figure out how to build a heater. Then we can't really use it after labor day, too cold.

The terrain here is all uphill even when your going downhill. I can't even get around my place without my crutches or my Honda 90 trailbike (no wise cracks). Of course it looks like I have a rollerblade stuck you know where.

A friend had some trial backsurgery last year and it worked great. I had hi-hopes for that. Then another friend had the same surgery and it did not work for him, so I'm not going to take the chance. I already have enough problems without to them.

Everyone have a good day. This is the first sunshine we've had since the first of the week.

Well, I do live on about 2500 cals per day, which is close to average for men my age, but surely I see what you are saying. I lost weight by eating less, and maintained it for a while, but was hungry all the time. I switched to low carb to be less hungry.

It will only get worse. I can't shoot a pistol nearly as well as I could a few years ago.

because they

I've had it with these Levis now. I just put the fourth patch on the first pair, and they're all ready for the fifth patch now. Today I'm going to purchase a pattern for some bluejeans, so I can pick out the material myself, rather than having to settle for whatever the manufacturer wants to use. I never used a sewing machine before, but I'm sure that my mother won't mind loaning me hers. I might as well make myself a blue denim jacket also while I'm at it.
