Recommend riveter for aluminum flat bar?

...

How about a cupping tool with a sharp point in the center to spread the rivet material outwards more easily? Just wondering.

Well I'm sorry, Ted had a great post, but I didn't think this off shoot was specific to hand swung hammers only. Looks like this guy is just a troll anyhow.

Harbor Freight $8 pneumatic gun and they probably sell the dimpled part that fits it or turn one in a lathe and a chunk of steel. Your right, gonna need an air compressor and a cheapy regulator and of course the lathe, f*ck it, use the hammer for that push stick or what ever this bozo is fishing for.

It is really beyond me why "people" get off on this kind of crap.

Sunworshipper fired this volley in news: snipped-for-privacy@4ax.com:

We "get off" on it, because it makes us re-think simple tasks that we've made unnecessarily complex in our quest for "better tools".

We thirst for more metal, more parts, and more inventive solutions, when often what is needed is just a mashed pin of aluminum holding two other pieces together.

Does a CNC mill beat a manual? 'Pends on the task, neh?

Sometimes, a hammer IS all you need.

Says a f*****ad who could not care less about his fellow workers here in the United States, a cheapskate who encourages others to take advantage of slave labor in China, as if he does not suffer the guilt of actually owning slaves.

Even that rings of troll, or Cliff, or what ever it is.

So you think I'm just a country f*ck eh? You can't wipe you ass without some china product nowadays, get real. I'm starting out like the first generation here bud, I didn't start this mess. They want a global economy, I said all alone they were jumping the gun.

So what is it you want help with? Come on

I didn't think so.

One of my pet ideas is that there are a lot of inventions or methods that are overlooked because they are too simple or because most inventors are looking for complex ways of doing things. Maybe patenting a simple thing is more difficult. I think that there are plenty of simple devices or methods that have been overlooked in our rush to dazzle them with brilliance.

For example... I made a device to suspend my monitor (it suspends the bar that the monitor tilt and swivel part is connected to underneath). It allows infinite vertical and/or horizontal positioning (of the tilt and swivel part) and it holds the monitor steady. The device consists of a 0.125" x 1.5" x 5" piece of aluminum flat bar. That one part grips a crosswise 2x4 and an aluminum tube that passes up through it. Included is a small picture, smaller than one of the thousands of Google Groups spam posts UseNet gets everyday. I used that piece of aluminum flat bar for moving the monitor over my desk or over my bed, at varying heights. Whether it is patentable or not, I just love using it.

That is right, f*****ad, you do not really know who I am (even though my header information is always the same). When asking for help, I could easily nym-shift so creeps like you who enjoy picking fights on the Internet would have no idea who I am. But it makes no difference, if you wanted to play he-man group protector, you are late anyway.
