sandblaster

Hi All! I would like to make a sandblaster capable of cleaning large objects such as car frames and the like. I seem to remember that there was a way that a v8 could be modified to run on 4 cyliners and 4 cylinders could be used to compress air at the rate needed for this kind of operation. I did a search for homemade sandblasters and every other term I could think of that might get me what I want but with no results. Does anyone else remember this concept and if so, any ideas where to learn more about it? Thanks for your help! Rick

A long time ago I had a cheep little check valve that screwed into a spark plug hole.It had a hose connection & you could blow up tires. It allowed fresh outside air to be sucked in on the intake stroke & made compresion on the exhaust stroke. It seems that to be absolutely sure that no gas fumes passed thru the check valve ,Id pull the rocker arms off the cylinders that are being used for compression.
