I bought their CD with all the amateru scientist stuff on it. I barely even looked at it so far. I was also annoyed they left off the particle accellerator article. I have it in hard copy but it still just annoys me.

I think it is called an atom smasher in the book. It looks like a van-Dgraph generator with the center column as a linear accelerator. I could not find it on the amateur sceintist CD rom I bought. chuck
