Sheldon 12" shaper

Hurray!!! Just received delivery on my Sheldon 12" shaper from eBay. Spent a little over $800.00 on it from eBay, delivered to me by the to Laguna Niguel by the seller from Paso Robles, CA. Nice guy offered to deliver for a reasonable fee. Shaper in excellent condition, all ways have the scrape marks looking almost unused. It is however missing the hand crank. I am therefore looking for one if anyone is in the know. I have the small shaper booklet from Linsdsay books, very good I thought but are there anymore books on using the shaper or shaper techniques? I also will be moving shortly, I will have to protect the shaper and its ways from rusting. What antirust protectant should I use on the ways? Any comments or suggestions on shaper use and care are welcome. Thanks. I just had to tell someone!!!

Carr Lane carries hand cranks. They aren't as elegant as the originals, but they're roughly the correct shape, and are inexpensive. carrlane.com

Congratulations on your machine. I bid on it too, even though I already have a nice shaper, that one looks like a peach.
