Way OT: Headlines I'd Like To See

Wall Street money manager Bernard Madoff, accused of running the largest-ever pyramid investment scheme is getting some company.

Madoff was placed under house arrest on Saturday and is now confined to his $7 million Manhattan apartment. SEC Chairman Christopher Cox insisted that the delicate treatment of Madoff will result in his continued cooperation with the investigation of the 50 billion dollar fraud.

As a condition of the lenient treatment, Mr. Madoff will play host to two others accused of similarly serious thefts. The government hopes they will also reveal details of their crimes in return for their stay in the luxurious apartment with gourmet meals and

24 - hour butler / maid / laundry service.

Axlerod Saeed a 32 year old described as a 'psychopathic street punk' by police will occupy the suite adjoining Mr. Madoff's. Saeed was arrested in mid - December and accused of the after - hours burglary of a Wal-Mart pharmacy and the stabbing death of a security guard. He will be transfered after completing a stay in New York's Sea Brook House detoxification facility, for treatment of his alleged crack cocaine addiction.

Freddie McClatchey, a twenty-four year old suspect in a robbery - gone - wrong will have a cot in Mr. Madoff's bedroom. Police are curious to know the location of those portions of his grandfather's body that had not been consumed over several days last month. Freddy had reportedly returned the proceeds of the alleged theft ($37.20 and a small stamp collection).

Chairman Cox stated that he was sure the gentle treatment of the suspects would result in fast and complete resolution in all three cases.
