Where can I buy about 100 ball bearings?

You should buy from someone here who has a bunch of surplus ball bearings he's trying to get rid of. Someone like Ignoramus(number) who posts here regularly. I've done several to many transactions with him and they've all been pleasant and flawless.

You can also try a bearing supplier like Motion Industries (I think they're in Canada) but they're less likely to carry the non-precision balls.

Dave, thanks for the compliments, but I sold most of my bearings. I have a few in that (or similar) size, but not nearly enough and I want them for myself.

You want to buy steel balls, not ball bearings. The bearings are assembled with races and so on.

You should buy them from mcmaster carr.

I'm new to all this... what I thought was "ball bearings" are actually "bearing balls," after poking around the McMaster site. Most of the "ball bearings" I see for skates are donuts, while I'm looking for spheres. Sorry about the confusion...

I have bought from Kaman Bearings and B.C. Bearing . Both stock what you need and price at jobbers rate. You may need to sign a declaration that they will not be used as ammunition.

In other news, I appreciate all the help I'm getting, but it turns out McMaster has no love for us small-time Canadians:

We used to fire the balls from AMC? rear axle bearings from a gun made of 1/2 or 3/4" Schedule 80 pipe, propelled by 4" firecrackers. They were dangerous at several hundred feet.
