24mm die

Got a 24x1.5 die to hand, and perhaps a 24x1 somewhere in the clutter, both with same-size taps and either of which which you could borrow, if that's any good - but not a 24x2 :(

And I've got a 24 x 3 tap, so maybe you could tap one pitch with each and end up in the middle?

There's a 24x2 die in fleabay at the moment, new, about 40 quid BIN

Cut it to 13 tpi on your CVA & use a big spanner

I'm aware that only they seem to use HQS designation so please tell me is what they sell poor, as you seem to indicate crap. The taps I've got from them seem fine but haven't seen much use yet. Most of the taps and dies I buy are from J&L and I have bought from Tracy before. IIRC I went to Tap& Die for BSB stuff at the time.

I don't see anything wrong with the Hamburg Quasar Survey, they are doing sterling work.

Charles, I might have a line on a 127 tooth gear that I need for metric screwcutting on the Bantam, but won't know until next week sometime. If it's a fit for my lathe I'll almost certainly have it as I need this anyway.

So do you still need to do the screwcutting and should I let you know if I get it? I was going to e-mail you direct, but I only have the old 'Guardian' address on this computer.
