Beaver Turret Mill lubrication

I had a query the other day from a fellow Beaver Mill owner about the lubrication of the head.

He had found the drain plug and sight glass but couldn't see where to fill it.

The filler plug is inside the belt housing above the head, lubricant is Macoma75 oil. The picture shows the arrow pointing to the actual pulley, so it may be underneath or there may be a cut-out in the pulley for access. My own machine is still up at the farm pending stripping down to get it through the workshop door.

I'm posting this here as I can't find the original email and the info might be of use to others in the same situation.

Tony Griffiths' manual/handbook for the mill is well worth purchasing if you are going to be a long-term owner.....

The horizontal milling attachment that I bought a while back has been collected by Martin Perman, who is in Edinburgh this week, many thanks, Mate!

No you're bloody not, you're posting it so that you can Google for it when you can't remember when you need to do it on yours! ;^)

Mind you, I can't boast about my memory, this has just reminded me that I need to call in chez-Prepair with a tacho. Hang on, I'll tie a knot in me hankie.

Where's me hankie?..

I found the original email on the factory computer, so emailed him to have a look at the NG.

I did buy the manual from Tony Griffiths, and it is well worth the money as I said in my original post, so I don't need the reminder... :-))

We're in Kevin Steele country this morning, picking up some old meters from Loughborough, followed by the rest of the day on CAD to get some drawings completed.
