Cromwell Lathe

Is anyone aware of articles on the Cromwell lathe circa 1950s? I have recently acquired one, and a copy of the handbook, but would be interested to find out more. I have had a butchers at Tony Griffith's website, but it occurs to me there must have been the odd article on them in one magazine or other. Maybe the engineering equivalent of Jeremy Clarkson took one for a test drive. If anyone has one I would be interested to swap a few notes/pictures.

I have the original drive system, but it is apart, and its a fiendishly complicated and dangerous looking array of wires, motors and rheostats/variacs. I am tempted to restore it to original, if I can do it safely - but I am a little nervous of big DC voltages.

Thanks, Steve
