Yep, those Broadbent spinners in a smaller format are used in Launderettes and are lethal. I removed them from my shops when I got them. The tub spins up, and is supposed to stop as you raise the lid - there is infact the brake drum and shoes from a Morris Minor mounted on the drum shaft sprung loaded 'on' and the lid hinge releases the brake. With a full load of wet washing the inertia is far more than can stop suddenly, and there have been cases of toddlers opening the lid, putting a hand in, and having their arm torn off. Hence removing them when I bought the shops !
