- - OT : Real size Steam Engine for/with Water Pump -

OT

Attention to Steam Engine Amateurs.

I'm interesting for a link or info regarding any Supplier or Manufacturer of "real" Steam Engines to power Water Pumps (Centrifugal or Piston Type) in 4th World Lostlands for Italian Charity Missions.

No matter Country from where them are coming from, but reliability and easy to use by natives.

Indian or Chinese ones maybe cheaper ones..

If any... where to find some old ones to copycat (to clone or to backengineering).

Any help appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Hi Tom.

Thank you for your reply.

Else Windmills could be a good power source for water pumps, but I don't know "if" there is wind "available" during the dry season... four-five years long...

In these Lost lands there is not available any kind of fuel but wood, hay and, sorry, dried manure...

I'm referring to Sub-Sahara and North-East African Territories (Shael).

Actually are available a lot of gasoline or diesel driven pumps, but all engines are "too sophisticated" to be operated by native.

Think to your lawn mower...

It is a jump to past, but a 10 HP pumps lets live up to 2,000 people.

Water availability stops people migrations and increase grow of greens, grass and... trees else.

Do you know that in India re till manufactured thousands of "Belt Driven" Lathe? When I asked why "Belt Driven" in CNC age... the reply has been:" Can they be driven by a Tractor PTO?"

Any hint welcome.

Thank you for your time.

You could try these, both in America, they say they supply ready buil

steam engines. They will probably be quite expensive.

Surely something more environmentally sustainable would be a better choice? Enough of the world's forest have gone already.

What's wrong with windmills?
