--Hey gang I'm relagging some steam lines on my 5-A. I'm planning to wrap the manifolds with 1/8" clothesline, then slop enough paint on it to make the finish glossy enough that oil can be easily wiped off. Is there a shortcut to painting on ten coats? What have others done? --TIA,
Thickening paint?

Ed, I used water glass on my cotton tight twist cord. A couple of coats, dry, then paint. RichD
Wrap with your cord and then cover the wrapping by winding PTFE plumbers tape on top wound tight. Use the thinner variety from a DIY store. Usually found under the plumbing section.
