I'm thinking of buying a WM-250 as it seems a much more rigid machine than the 918 which was another option. Does anyone have any experience of this machine. I would be grateful for any comments.

It looks an awful lot like my Sieg C6B, which as shipped has an 800W motor but only a single speed range of 0 - 2000.
Make sure you know how much grunt you want and can get out of this machine at the bottom end - you might find (I don't know this is true of the Wm-250) that it runs out of grunt below 125rpm. I've added a 0 -500rpm range to my Sieg for that reason.
I don't have a great experience of variable speed DC motors but I do worry about a heavy load on a motor thats only turning at 5-10% of max speed from a cooling point of view. Some say I worry too much!
I didn't buy the 918, because I wanted a machine with not necessarily more features, but definitely as much rigidity as I could get and the SIEG was on offer at the time and so cheaper than the Warco. I have bought Warco before and they are "real" they know what they are selling and you can talk to them.
Best Regards
Steve
