cleaning on nylon 6

Dec 29, 2008 2 Replies

hi I am using Nylon6 in test at 285 oC, after that i have to clean it at room temp. so please tell me what solutions to be used for same?

The melting point of nylon 6 is 216 Deg. C. At 285 deg. C, in presence of air, or water (vapor, or dissolved in the polymer) the nylon will degrade, and change MW. Washing it will not reverse the degradation.

So you melt the PA6 at 285C in air for some time and cool it down to RT = and afterwards the nylon is discolored ...?

Have you tried do> hi
