Research Assistants/ Scientists (2 Lafayette, 1 Houston)

Job Summary: Assist in the development of new products, which perform to customer's specifications, perform technical services and QC/QA services when needed. Perform R&D that leads to commercialization of new products. Assist in all areas necessary in order to grow a small business. Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed without supervision. Ability to supervise subordinates.

Job Duties: ? Assist in laboratory development of products to meet customer's needs. ? Assist in "scale-up" for new product developments. ? Assist in all phases of customer technical service projects. ? Assist customers in selection of products to meet their needs. ? Quality control of products and improvements of existing products. ? Assist in the growth of a small business. ? General testing requirements involved in specialty chemical sales and services of specialty chemicals to various markets such as energy, chemicals, agriculture, aquaculture, etc. ? Function as technical support for sales efforts. ? Author technical reports. ? Assist keeping all laboratory equipment and facilities in neat, orderly manner. ? Assist in maintaining laboratory records, notebooks and databases. ? Assist in maintaining laboratory filing system. ? Must be able to handle multiple daily tasks ? Run forklifts, operate warehouse, if required. ? Be "on-call" to take orders on nights and weekends when required.

Job Specifications: ? Bachelor or Masters. (Chemistry (preferred)/ Chemical Engineering) with an emphasis on organic chemistry ? Industrial work experience. ? Experience with polymers (specifically biopolymers) and their derivatization. ? Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher) ? Good mechanical ability. ? Good written communication skills o Able to keep accurate, neat records. o Able to write timely, accurate Technical Service Reports. ? Good verbal communication o Customer contacts. o Interface with Plant and other company personnel. ? Small business oriented ? Promotable. ? Ability to complete projects, while under time constraints. ? Ability to interact with customers and handle and resolve their problems

Venture Innovations, Inc (VII) is a member company of TheVentureGroup

and provides research and development services, technical services, quality control services, patenting and consulting services primarily to the companies of the group. We also generate outside business. VII is also responsible for new product development for Venture Chemicals, Inc.(our parent company). In particular, this responsibility involves the development, acquisition, and use or sale of technical know-how. VII also provides technical training, and is the key liaison between TheVentureGroup and government, industry, and customer R & D groups.

VII maintains laboratories in Lafayette, Louisiana and in Houston, Texas. Pilot facilities are located in Seagraves, Texas. The laboratories are equipped to provide all necessary technical support as well as research and development in TheVentureGroup's key market areas.

While engaged in research and development, VII has been granted a number of patents for products and processes for TheVentureGroup as well as other industrial clients.

Although each company in TheVentureGroup maintains its own laboratory facilities for quality control and customer technical services, VII furnishes the primary technical and patent support to TheVentureGroup. It also provides patent services and certain types of technical consultation for outside clients.
