solvent for polyesteramide

Jul 21, 2003 4 Replies

Does anyone know a good solvent for polyesteramides ? If so, any knowledge (via measurement) whether all hydrogen bonds are broken in this solvent.

Thanks

Mark

Try DMAc with 3% LiCl. Frank

Frank What is the abbreviation DMAc ?

Mark

Sorry, DMAc is dimethyl acetamide. It is a good solvent for polyamides and even better with lithium chloride. Trifluoroacetic acid/methylene chloride ~1/3 is a good polyester solvent. Frank

Also try cyclopentanone. we ahve had good luck dissolving polyimides in this.
