=================================================================2) New Book: RoboCup- 2002 : Robot Soccer World Cup
================================================================RoboCup is an international initiative devoted to advancing the state of the art in artificial intelligence and robotics. The ambitious long-term goal is to build a team of robot soccer players which can beat a human World Cup champion team by 2050. Almost 200 teams from 29 countries entered the 2002 competition and more than 100,000 spectators attended. Each year RoboCup publishes a book covering that year's competition.
"RoboCup- 2002" is the sixth official book devoted to RoboCup. It documents the achievements presented at the 6th Robot World Cup Soccer and Rescue Competition and Conference. The teams consist of five robots. The winning teams use excellent mechanical design and advanced vision systems to get the edge. The book is packed with illustrations, and every page has a wealth of information. At almost 500 pages, the amount of knowledge packed into this book is incredible.
"RoboCup- 2002" opens with an overview presenting the history of this sport, the overall perspectives and challenges, and a survey of the state of the art. The technical paper section presents the latest research and development. Each paper was carefully reviewed and selected from 76 submissions. The teams describe their robots in detail--everything from programming strategies to wheel design. Also included is a league report summarizing the results of the various leagues running competitions.
These books are mandatory reading for the rapidly growing RoboCup community as well as a valuable source of reference and inspiration for hobbyists and professionals interested in multi-agent systems, distributed artificial intelligence, robot vision, and intelligent robotics.

=================================================================4) New Book: Fundamentals of Robotics ================================================================Tomorrow's robots, including humanoid robots, will perform tasks like tutoring children, working as tour guides, driving humans to work, and the family shopping. They will enhance our lives in ways we never dreamed possible. No time to attend a meeting on Asian strategy? Let your robot go for you and make the decisions. Not feeling well enough to go to the clinic? Let Dr. Robot come to you, make a diagnosis, and get you the necessary medicine for treatment. No time to coach the soccer team this week? Let the robot do it for you.
Tomorrow's robots will be the most exciting and revolutionary things to happen to the world since the invention of the automobile. They will change the way we work, play, think, and live. Today robotics is one of
the most dynamic fields of scientific research. It is offered in almost every university in the world. This book will guide you, the curious beginner, from yesterday to tomorrow. "Fundamentals of Robotics" covers practical knowledge in understanding, developing, and using robots as versatile equipment to automate a variety of industrial processes or tasks.

=================================================================5) New Book: Anatomy of a Robot ================================================================This book looks under the hood of all robotic projects, stimulating teachers, students, and hobbyists to learn more about the gamut of areas associated with control systems and robotics. It offers a comprehensive presentation of the theory and philosophy of robotics in a technically accurate yet entertaining way.
Reading "Anatomy of a Robot" is like having a robot on the operating room table. Crack open the pages and you'll be able to dissect a robot from head to toe--or from project management and design to motors and power systems. Discover how robots move, how they see and hear, what gives them their power, and, at times, their gentleness. Delve into the robot's brains, and learn how experienced robot designers use control systems and artificial intelligence to make their machines think.
"Anatomy of a Robot" exposes the life and human creativity behind today's robot. Always entertaining, this exceptional book takes you deep inside the theory and craft, philosophy and science of robotics. Coverage ranges from control systems and computer hardware to nuts and bolts topics such as actuators and mechanics, with plenty of humor and math to help with the anatomy lesson. A must for robot professionals and serious robot hobbyists and a treat for science lovers and teachers, "Anatomy of a Robot" is a
journey inside one of today's most exciting and fast-moving fields.
