This is an exciting opportunity for us to learn, have fun, and also to teach. We're hoping to bring large numbers of new participants into rocketry. The only way to do that is to give people an opportunity to see what modern rocketry is all about: the whole spectrum.
The airport management is closing the entire airport for us for the three days and is excited to help us host an event that will be interesting and exciting to ourselves and the local community. In addition, the Pyrotechnics Guild International convention is earlier that week, so IEAS Convention participants may choose to go watch one of the country's greatest fireworks displays Friday night. We expect a large number of PGI members to attend our event and participate in classes and forums.
This is much more than a launch. The forums, classes, exhibits, and demonstrations are a major focus, with tracks for both novices and for advanced rocketeers. Younger attendees can learn the basics of rocketry by building and flying water/air-pressure bottle rockets or model rocket kits, while others can participate in discussions about the latest technical advances. And everyone can see some of our most interesting projects both on the ground an in the air.
Please pre-register as soon as possible so we can plan appropriately. To encourage early registration, entrance fees are WAIVED for applications received before May 16th. After this date, a $20 registration fee will apply.
Membership in IEAS is required for flyers. See our web site for a membership application, dues are only $20.
We encourage presentations, demonstrations, or exhibits on any aerospace topics. And of course everyone would love to see your latest projects fly!
