That's it...We've had it... I've tried to keep up with all of the politics as well as opinions on RMR... some good... some not so good...but that's just it... It's 99.784329% opinions... everybody has one... Keeping track of who posts only shows that a few people seem to be really zealous in making theirs appear to be the only one... Right or wrong, what shows up here on this newsgroup is a tremendous amount of irresponsible crap that nobody really wants to scroll through... In the interest of the hobby of rocketry... my 10 year old son and I will no longer tolerate the petty bickering and snot nosed antics of this current RMR crowd. Come on... give us a break... you are all acting like second graders... This is a family hobby ( I've spent years prepping for)... We all know that mistakes have been made and that there there are legal issues (still on the table), but It seems to me that the most recent postings seem to be less interested in the future of rocketry and more inclined towards certain peoples personal agendas. There are hundreds (if not THOUSANDS) of young people with minds that require nuturing and support from those of us who really want to teach and mentor this wonderful hobby. I find it quite disgusting that they should have to wade through such trivial waste, in hopes of learning, or at least being pointed toward resources that might help them in their quest for knowledge... How about it people?

You have my vote.

If you want your kid exposed to rocketry in a more controlled environment (some here will claim over moderated and boring) try Rocketryforum.com. There are a bunch of younger people who hang out there. A mid place between that and this zoo is RocketryOnline.com

Don't hold out any hope that this place will become suitable for a young boy.

Sad thing is, if you have the time and patience there are some real nuggets buried in this claptrap.

If you want to hang out here, I strongly suggest you look into filters.

I use Anawave Gravity. Killfiles don't work very well with the irritating, anonymous trolls who change identity more often than most people change their socks. Filter if the post body contains any of the following:

iz, skippy, jerry, BOD, iraq, bush, democrat, republican and anything else you don't want to read.

I see about 30 posts per day.

I agree. Only I would suggest exposing your kids to actual launches, where people aren't hiding behind the safety of their keyboards, and actually communicate to each other in a normal, civil manner. (Usually!) ;)

I still have a few friends around here, Jean, who forwarded me this and others where you cutesy guys replied and left all the keywords intact. See email below. And that would "Curdt", to you. ;-)

Name snipped to protect the not so innocent instigator.

Whoa, Kurt. You let him off too easy. That should have been "That's MR. Curdt to you, Buddy!"
