Mythbusters yet again

I don't watch much TV, so this might be old news for others. But I caught the show where they were going to do a "manned flight" using compressed air/water in 3 liter bottles. It didn't work as they were trying to do it, due to the imbalances inherit in it. But, I'm remembering that old rocket pack built decades ago and it would seem that if the system were rigged up that way it'd be more successful (once you solve the little problem of a fast decent, and the sudden stop when you reach the ground again).



Somebody had posted here a link to a Japanese newsclip that showed just that. A guy was on a dock and got launched out over a lake and did O.K.
