Aifix Buccanneer

Seems as though it is - sold mine a ways back, fuselage definately warped. I'd left them rubberbanded or taped together for a few months - not sure if it helped...

It seems to be a common problem with the Airfix Big Buccs, but it's not insurmountable. There's a good guide to dealing with the warps - and much more - on Ted Taylor's site - see

I have one too, the ends of the fuselage are warped, as are the tiips of where the wings go in, speak to Rita at airfix spares, she will get you a set off pretty quickly. Edward

That, I think, is the reason you rarely see a Bucc' made up any where, most modellers tried it out when it was released but put it back in the box for later. It is a nice kit of a good airplane but so much of a problem trying to get it to go together, Ah well you can't win 'em all can you. I don't know anyone who has a kit that fits without warping !!!!!!

Mine wasnt warped, or at least bad as i have seen, but yes i put it back in the box once the fusalarge was done. But yesterday i picked up a great brick book, in series so should be finneshed by the end of the century
