Just popped up on the beeb website.. was interesting cos i was there last year, spent a few days on the island a few km away but took a drive up, its a massive complex...i saw a few seconds of it on m palins around europe show last year..
i heard before they wanted to do it up..
must admit, great beaches..and the water was so much better than the crap around the UK...
Theres a kriegsmarine museum on the island and i went there Daenholm or something like that...also lots of |DDR military history too.
Have noticed when im in Germany, talking about the war, the young uns dont know a tiger from a panzer III or a fw190 from a ME109 most of the time. and one German guy from Berlin, loves our Spit more than his stuff...
Theres a good model shop in Berlin, where i goto when there, and the woman owner told me, her dad was in a Hetzer in the war and Germans dont like talking about it....

was due to go back for a seaside hol this year, but with the drunk driver destroying the camper, and the replacement blowing up,we never got there...and unless the euro/£ changes next year, cant see getting back
