How/where to post pix [of a helicopter's fantastic paint job]?

I don't have a website nor any idea how/where to post pictures. I do, at least, know jpegs, etc. can't be posted directly to text-only newsgroups like this.

The other day I received three jpeg photos of an Mi-24 [Russian?] helicopter serving in Afghanistan, painted nose-to-tail in absolutely *stunning* 'bird of prey' livery.

I've never, ever seen anything like this and would like to share it with you all.

You can post them to another UseNet group, one that is specifically for posting photos. There are numerous devoted to military and/or aviation subjects.

You can also upload them to your *own* web space. Your ISP, more than likely, provides you with several Gigs of web space, for your own personal use. Just upload them to there, and post the link(s) to this newsgroup.

Got the same a few days ago from a friend.

Stunning to say the least.

Funniest part was the text where the original sender claimed it was an American bird in Afghanistan painted up to scare the bejeebers out of the taliband.

Hungarian tail markings aside it was a pretty fun story.

Do you know what site your friend sent it from? I'd like to know more about it. Also, you say it's a Hungarian chopper [I don't know one country's chopper from another] or did I misunderstand?

The hungarian markings on the taiol were a BIT OF A giveaway:-)

Nev obviously doesn't know that the tri-colour 'arrow' is the modern Hungarian marking. It was also the pre-WWII marking.

Afraid not. My wife's uncle sent it. He sends stuff every day to scores of friends. I have a printout if you would like a copy. Can send by snail mail.

It's a Russian built Mil Mi-24 "Hind" in Hungarian service. Red/white/green horizontal triangle on the tail boom.
