Humbrol/Heller/Airfix

Bad news... Letter just came to the local hobby shop from the distributor yesterday. Heller is out of receivership & out of existence. No further supplies of Heller & Humbrol will be available, unless something comes up for Airfix, that probably means them too. If anyone hears anything more optimistic let us know Bob

Well, all those molds represent a rather large asset, and they will probably resurface somewhere in Eastern Europe at some point. The people charged with closing out the Heller/Airfix debts will not simply scrap them. As for Humbrol, that's an interesting situation. The name and products are so ingrained in Europe, who would fill the vacuum they leave??

Eduard has recently released the Airfix 1/48 Spitfire 24 with additional resin and PE parts. Hopefully they will acquire some of the moulds - maybe even the name! - and continue to do that sort of thing.
