(PENSACOLA, Fla.-AP) September 21 -- The National Museum of Naval Aviation suffered little damage from Hurricane Ivan and should reopen in a couple of weeks.
Museum president retired Vice Admiral Jack Fetterman says only two of about 70 planes displayed outside Naval Air Station were damaged. No planes inside the building were damaged and the museum itself only suffered some water damage near the entrance.
The museum is one of Pensacola's leading tourist attractions, second only to its beaches.
Nearly one million people visit each year to view dozens of historic and rare aircraft, a mock up of a World War Two aircraft carrier's flight deck and displays of aviation art and artifacts.
