I've heard baking soda (or solutions thereof) can/will do the trick.
any polar solvent will speed up super glue bonding. The most common one is dihydrogen oxide (aka water) which explains why super glue sticks to your fingers much more efficiently than two bits of plastic.
Try making some mud for armour by mixing brown acrylic paint with super glue and applying it to a tank. Ruins a brush but it looks good.
Real accelerator is a aromatic amine and its best if you stick to this (sorry about the pun), a mate of mine has used superglue and accelerator to fill in reasonably large windows in an airliner model (about 6mm x 6mm). Looks good, much better than polystyrene windows.
i use the dollar store nail polish remover on my superglue paint brushes. almost always will revive a dried out one if soaked over night. the cheap stuff seems to work better because of no perfumes. haven't tried industrial acetone. because the results have been good.
