what scale is it? it seems quite a bit bigger than the airfix. i'm talking the kit with the 2 p47's.

This may be the 1/64th scale kit they released in the 1960's. The did a number of models to that scale (which is 3/16"=1 foot), but it never caught on as an aircraft scale. GPO

had that onw as a kid. wildly different scales covers that set.

It barely lasts as a model railroad scale - 'S'. Most American Flyer was made to that scale.
