My limey mate is married to a seppo, i heard she stayed up watching some big match last week, shes from upstate NY so who would she have supported ? and who did they play, i want to wind her up.

Boston Red Sox played against the St. Louis Cardinals and won the "World Series". It has been 86 years since their last win. Who'd she back? One could suppose she'd back the Sox because of geographical proximity but that's not always a sure thing. You'll have to dig around for the answer from your mate.
