I haven't seen a Kate from Sweet but there is a Hurricane and an Italian WWII a/c in 1/144. Most of their kits come with two kits; one regular, one in clear. I could understand this in 1/48 or 1/32 scale if you've got some interior detail to show off but what it does in this scale eludes me.

Sweet produces some of the best 1/144 kits around, if not the very best! They offer a Macchi Mc 200, a Hurricane, Wildcat, and Zero A6M2B. The Wildcat is available with an elevator/deck base and the Zero will be soon be offered with the same option. Without the elevator option, each box contains two complete kits with plenty of decals...and not so many cats. The detail and engraving on these little kits is amazing. And best of all they are usually just $10 per box, whether with two kits or the elevator/deck option.
I suppose if you are really into fine detail you could build an interior and vac-form a new canopy but that's all the kits lack.

I've been sorely tempted but closer examination reveals I can't see that scale! The extensive decals are half the fun. I believe the company is run by a gent who works (or worked) for Tamiya. The decals in the FM-2 issue make me want to order some unboxed examples from the mfg. and do a squadron. Cheers,
