Not much of a help, but I you can clearly see the white (yellow?) outline on the rudder ident stripe.

It looks more like overspray to me, at the top of the stripe, where the stripe was masked off. The photo you sent is the only one I've ever seen of this a/c, but it's clearer than the one I have. The old Arco/Aircam P-47 book has the same b+w picture but not as clear, It also has a color profile. The tail band is without any colored border in the profile. The old 1/72 scale Hasegawa kits show the tail bands as having a yellow border. I guess it's a matter of interpretation. I built my old Hasy kit with the yellow borders.
