Shipping Future from USA

Chaps, A question to all those who may have shipped Future from the States to other places. How did you do it? My little bro's tried UPS and they won't play the game, 'cause of the chemical thing. Any suggestions? I'd like to try some of the stuff, but it's not looking good.

Failing that, anyone in the Milwaukee area wanna buy 4 bottles of Future at a discount price? (c:

Future in the US is called 'Klear' in Europe (well, the UK anyway), so it might be easier to visit your local store?

I mailed some to Switzerland using the US Postal Service. Told the clerk what it was and that it wasnt flammable. No Problem. There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Mental Illness."

Having now got bottles of each, 'tis not the same thing, but is pretty similar in effect.

Don't reply to the btconnect address - and remove nospam!!

Recently sent a bottle to Italy wth no problem.

Double bagged the bottle in zip lock bags, packed well with foam peanuts. Just sad "liquid soap" on the customs form. Arrived in good form.

Yeah, we've got stuff that's *almost* the same here, 'cept all the brands contain ammonia. Good for canopies and stuff, useless for topcoating over acrylic paints. Been there, done that. And ruined a couple of nice acrylic finishes into the bargain.

It has been determined (through lots of posts in other threads) that the UK version of Future (called Klear) is not as potent as the US version.

Someone from the UK who visited the US and purchased a bottle of Future

- and compared it with his home-grown Klear when he got back - decided that the UK version needed a couple of coats to achieve what the US version did in a single coat.

IIRC, the outcome of the discussion was that UK Klear is a 'watered down' version of Future.

Not literally 'watered down' - just not as thick or glossy.

I sent a bottle over to Oz a couple of years ago with no troubles. The same can't be said of the vegamite that was on the return trip. Apparently it didn't clear Customs.

Bill if you still want some vegemite, my local Indian grocery has some. I can probably ship from Texas but your state may not allow it in.

I believe it was pre- but the guys at LAX were probably aware of its properties through previous exposure.

I'll take a pass, thanks. It might not be a good idea to tempt fate. ;)

$17 bucks a bottle (plus postage!) - stuff that for a joke! I'll either work out how to get it from US or I'll do without. But thanks for the heads-up.

It's a sandwich/bread/toast/muffin/whatever spread, made from a yeast extract. Black, salty, sticky. Accquired taste, but Aussie kids grow up loving the stuff, and most Aussie adults seem to miss it when we're OS. It used to be made by an Aussie owned company, but like most of *them*, it now belongs to some faceless US-based international conglomerate. Which sucks the big one; but that's life in the fast lane. Have a look around for some, you may enjoy the experience. (c:
