Tony Woollett

It has been reported over on Hyperscale that Tony Woollett, master scratchbuilder, has died after losing a battle against cancer.

A sad day indeed.

I'm sure lots of readers of the UK's Scale Models magazine and visitors to the UK's January Model Engineer Exhibitions will be familiar with Tony's work, and his penchant for anything de Havilland, the aircraft of the thirties or preferably both. Scratchbuilding master, artist and craftsman and pioneer of 1/36 scale. I'll miss the welcome update of Tony's unique latest project. Chek

A very sad day. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Woollett some years ago and have admired his work since I was old enough to appreciate his skill. The modelling world has lost one of it's pioneers.
