Knotfreak, You'll need a thorough understanding of the syntax used to generate "hole-callouts". Without knowledge, you will end up performing an edit and then checking the callout in a SW drawing. This of course can be very time consuming and not very productive. Basically, you need to rearrange the syntax to meet your company's requirements. You can add text but you cannot make up your own syntax. To learn more, you can review the list of acceptable variables at the end of either one of the callout files, "calloutformat.txt" or "calloutformat_2.txt". Another way to look at the variables is to create a callout in a drawing, then select the callout and finally, select the "variables" button in the PM. I totally agree that this area is really lacking as far as documentation or help goes. In the on-line help it basically states that the two support files are used to control the default format of callouts. The calloutformat_2.txt file is described as a simplified version of calloutformat.txt file. Really helpful stuff! In our case, extensive modifications were made to the original calloutformat.txt to provide for company requirements. Our file is located on a network drive where all users have access via a "File Location" setting. I suggest that you modify & experiment with a local version in order to fine-tune the file for your particular needs. Eddie
