can I change parts in an assembly rather than delete and replace?

I've got an assembly with a whole bunch of parts that are the same, all nicely mated into their correct places.

Now I find that I need to do a mass change of these parts to one that is slightly longer.

I don't seem to see a way to change these, is there one?

If it can be done, the mates that are set up should not be affected by the length change.

If possible, don't replace them...

Is there a reason you just can't create another configuration in the part that's "slightly longer", then in the assembly, select the component from the tree/properties- and select the new configuration for the component? This will then keep any mates you have....

right mouse button menu, replace component. you may have to hit the down arrows at the bottom of the menu for it to show up. it will give you the option to replace just the selected instance or the whole lot.

Oh cool Matt. Thanks a lot.

GD XP, I hate those unused menu items down arrows. Is there a way to turn them off?

I never thought to look down for there for that...

Tools>Customize (not Customize menu) 5th tab "Options" click show all under Shortcut customization.
