I see some dual core laptops hitting the market.
Wonder if there is any benefit to getting one for Solidworks use?
Also wonder if the Dell M70 will go dual core soon?

Some features in SolidWorks take advantage of dual CPU's, the biggest being drawing views from draft to high quality. Multi-threads appear to be the wave of the future, and with the advent of x64 OS and programs, only the dream teams know what to expect. As far as your Autodesk Inventor inquiry, I don't know. Maybe post it at discussion.autodesk.com and the autodesk.inventor newsgroup.
