I never knew Joe, but I am glad that he, like many others on here, made the effort to help other users like myself. So I would just like to add my condolences too. Pete

I prefer not to filter out individuals because every once in a while someone might say or suggest something that triggers a useful thought relevant to SW or engineering in general. Come on JB, focus you can do it 2005!

How could you possibly KNOW that "NONE of them ever offered him a job"? Are you privy to ALL the job offers that Jon may possibly have gotten? Do you know all the people and companies that "may" have offered him a job, and know for a fact that they didn't? IF NOT, then what you have claimed above is simply a fabrication on your part.

Admiral? Translator? Engineer? Mathematician? Those would border on the infinitesimal. Designer? Hell anyone can be a designer. But he could very well be offered a job in tech support, as a salesman, or any number of other positions. Personally, I think he'd make a good salesman, he could put his natural talents to work.

This is the sort of response that makes you appear more than a little out of phase with reality.

Did you miss the part about Jon saying no right off, so an actual job offer was never realized, but might have been if he had said yes? But whatever, it blows your intentionally fabricated deceit right out of the water. IMO, this obsession is doing YOU more harm than you care to admit, or even realize.

Thanks for the compliment, but I am passed that phase of my career. It is a lot more fun getting lots of jobs shops out of trouble without having to be imprisoned in one. I had an opportunity to take over a shop a while back. It seemed like a good idea at the time. It wasn't until my first trial month that I stared into the abyss and saw why they were so anxious to give it away. I got out without a scratch, a new appreciation for the business I have, and an education.

Cliffasions and misdirections aren't going to work for this time. The question IS: Did you post as FACT your conjecture that Jon never received ANY job offers from CAD/CAM companies? Calling Dan Palone can verify that your comments were false and simply your latest attempt at the character assassination of Jon.

If you are playing fast and loose with the truth in THIS instance, how can any of your other comments about Jon be trusted to be factual or true?

I wouldn't read too much into it. By "anyone", I mean anyone that has the talent/knowledge/experience/drive to be a competent designer. It's different with engineers who have to have a degree and pass exams, or those with high military rank who at the least have to be in the military. Cliff was just being his usual facetious self.
