Multikey Macros

Is it possible to have multikey macros in solidworks? if so, how??

ie I want to type "me" to bring up the measure box, and type "mv" to begin a move component action.

(coming from the pro/e side, this was indispensible to do fast work) Thanks in advance for any insight!

I don't know of any way to do that, but I have lots of single-key hotkeys defined, such as m-mate, d-determine a distance (m was already used for mate...), b-back to the previous view, n-note, etc. Depending on what version you are using, you can import all of mine to see if you like them. I maintain a list of all the hotkeys that are "standard" in SW, and then all that we have added as our "standards".

There is also a set of macros that tie to the numpad keys that change to all the different views. Quite indispensable once you get used to them being there.

Let me know if you would like to try any of this.

The only thing I know of is using Shif or control or alt with a key or a combo of them.

I once experimented with something like this in a macro, years ago. I was trying to find a better way to apply sketch relations. To use your example (because I can't remember mine), bind "m" to a macro. Have this macro watch for the next keystroke, and build a select case list of what to do with that next keystroke.

That's all you're getting.
