new to SW, a question in mind

I have used AutoCad and Solid Edge several years for a short period of time. Now I'm working on an industrial robot and I would like to design it in SW and synchronize it with MATLAB via the Virtual Reality Toolbox. I was wondering if there any examples/models/tutorials of some industrial robots, it would be very helpful for me since I'm a total newbie in SW. I'm currently running SW 2007, and I have done the

3 first tutorials suggested in SW help. Thanks

I'm sure I recall downloading CAD models from the ABB web site, in a previous job.

There are several robots available for download from the users section of the 3D Content Central website.
