patches and upgrades allegedly from MS

MS does not email fix notifications to individual users, AFAIK. I do know that there is a worm currently propagating by pretending to be a security patch. Don't trust the email. Go to Microsoft's website to get your updates.

Has anyone else been getting a series of upgrade and patch notices concerning networking and secutity fixes for MS OS's?

I have received 4 in the last week. They look very pro and the url's do connect but the subject titles beg a second look. One says "last chance" another "install immediately" which presses my bogus button immediately.

He who hesitates may be rewarded in this case.

If you previewed this email, update your virus scanner and scan your system. As mentioned - it is the WORM_SWEN.A virus

. It executes in the preview window of Outlook, and apparently in Opera as well it seems (which is what I use, but my virus scanner blocked it).
