PhotoWorks: How To Do a Simple B/W Rendering?

All,

I want to render a high quality (.jpg) image from SWX but don't want to use all the tacky colors and backgrounds in PhotoWorks.

I would like to see black and white only on white viewport. Is this possible with PhotoWorks or just 'save as' from the SWX screen?

thanks

ND

Just change the colored imaged to "gray scale" in any paint program (well, most paint programs have this ability).

Or print to a file, PDF, and exclude color or save (print) in gray scale.

Yes, you just have to set up your scene without any walls and floor. Then save that scene as your default. (I think it's the last little button down at the bottom.)

OK guys,

I got the background OK Jerry but the image still renders in color . . . I need black and white only (on white background).

I plan on inserting these jpg's in Word documents and don't want color.

Can Photoworks do just black and white? I am not making hardcopies Paul just jpg files for inserting into Word documents.

thanks, ND

You can just change the materials of your parts to black and white. Othwise, when printing you can just set your printer to print black and white only.

This is just with black and white and gray materials.

In Options/Materials, uncheck "Apply SolidWorks properties for render". When I do this all my parts render as grey, since I haven't applied any PhotoWorks colors to them. If that doesn't work, then you will need to specify the colors, either in PW or in SW. I've never messed with PW colors.

Do you mean a black outline on a white background, or are we talking grayscale (for shadows and shading)?

You can open the image in MS Paint and go to IMAGE\ATTRIBUTES and click on Black and White to convert it.

In Photoshop: IMAGE\ADJUST\DESATURATE

Photoshop: Image/Mode/Grayscale is easier and the filesize will be smaller.
