SPC Software?

Hi all.

I was just wondering if anybody out there is using SPC software in their quality departments, and what you are using.

We are just starting to look at using it, and I am having a heck of a time finding something that is going to be robust enough and easy enough for the guys in inspection.

So far I've found qualityamerica.com (cheap but seems like it'll get bogged down real quick (msaccess db)) and NWA

Looks nice, but is expensive. There's others, but these are the leading two so far.

Any body got any other ideas? Or ideas of who better to ask?

thx, john

I don't have any experience with this companies software, but I know several of the guys that work for Hertzler Systems. Their Gainseeker

7.4 SPC software may be worth checking out.

Sounds like a good product, but 'spensive. $10k-ish to get started.

We're were planning on spending a LOT less than that.

thx,

Mitituyo has one Measurelink. Gainseeker has already been mentioned. ASI Datamyte WinSPC InfinityQS AtSigma Minitab (for analysis not gathering)

and about 50 others.

Cost varies. You need to decide where you want to end up. Are you looking for real time spc data collection on the line. How many stations are you going to end up with? Licensing schemes vary between vendors some are cheaper to start out with but the costs add up as you add users/collection stations in the plant. Some are more customizable in interface but take more time to master that customization.

$10K is probably about right for a few input stations and an administrative license to set up and analyse the data.

I am no expert but I have looked into it in the somewhat recent past.

thanks, Don.

I'll check those out.

We're looking at one station, with input from a CMM, Mitituyo calipers (thru a starrett box), and manual entry.

thanks, john
